The Boston Shamrocks got a good effort from starter Miguel Miron in defeating the Los Angeles Knights at Los Angeles Grounds. The final score was 5-2. Miron went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 9. His record improves to 6-5. Willie Cantu earned the save for Boston, his 18th of the year.
Howie Park, the 2000 Rookie of the Year Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Park contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put Boston up, 3-0.
"I felt good up there," said Park. "I saw the ball well."
The Shamrocks move to 30-37 with the win, while the Knights drop to 35-32.
