Boston Gets 3-1 Win
|
Behind an impressive start by Miguel Miron, Boston beat Philadelphia, 3-1. Miron went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 5-4. Willie Cantu earned the save for Boston, his 14th of the year.
Boston used a well-timed hit by Willie Zamora to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shamrocks ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning is always a team effort," Miron said after the game.
The Shamrocks go to 25-34, putting them last in the East Division.
