Detroit Stadium was the site for Professional Baseball Circuit action featuring the New York City Blues and Detroit Motors.
The Detroit Motors topped the New York City Blues by the score of 6-3, with the largest share of the credit going to pinch hitter Jared Herrick. Herrick went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Motors. Kyle Boss, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-4. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The save went to Dan Frost, number 1 for him.
Herrick had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-2 cutter from Justin Ferguson, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Motors a 6-2 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Herrick.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Herrick told the Detroit Chronicle.
The Motors raised their record to 28-20.
