Knights Reel Off Another Win
|
The Los Angeles Knights got a magnificent performance from pitcher Mike Newton, who muffled the Denver offense en route to a tight 3-1 Knights win at Los Angeles Grounds. The Knights, at 27-18, have now won 6 straight.
The Knights got an important contribution from right fielder Rich Garrett, who in the bottom of the third punched a 0-2 cutter into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Knights ahead, 3-0.
"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Garrett.
