Both teams had their chances, but the New York City Blues eventually prevailed.
The Boston Shamrocks got a superb performance from second baseman Luis Moreno, but the New York City Blues still won the game, 4-3. Moreno went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Antonio Maytorena, the winning pitcher, is now 2-3. He went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 2. Earning his 6th save of the year was Luis Perez.
Seigo Yamamoto, the 32-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Yamamoto contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put New York City up, 3-1.
"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Yamamoto.
The Blues improved to 17-18.
