Dallas got a big-time effort from pitcher Tim King, but it wasn't enough to keep the Denver Cutthroats from winning the game, 3-2. King threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The triumph puts Denver at 15-15 for the season.
The Cutthroats were down to their final out when shortstop David Dear turned a 0-2 cutter from Chris Kaplan into a 2-run double. The walk-off double made the Cutthroats Ballpark crowd go wild.
Dear said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
