Blues Lose to Knights, 4-1
|
The Los Angeles Knights earned a win at Los Angeles Grounds, stopping the New York City Blues, 4-1. Starting pitcher Bill Ravey played a big role in his team's success. Ravey, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. With the win, the Knights sit at 16-12.
The Knights got a big at-bat from center fielder Jose Silva. For the game, Silva went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 8th double of the season gave Los Angeles a 2-1 lead.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Silva told the Los Angeles Today.
