Kaminski Named Top Reliever for PBC Saturday, October 14th , 2000 Dave Kaminski of the Houston Mavericks has been named the winner of the 2000 Professional Baseball Circuit Reliever of the Year Award. The award comes at an opportune time too, as the 30-year-old is an impending free agent. "You always hope to have this type of year every year, but it's pretty special to have it before I go to free agency, if that happens," he said. On the year, the relief ace had a 1.58 ERA over 57 innings of work. He made 41 relief appearances and had 21 saves, 81 strikeouts, 15 walks and a record of 1-6. Opponent batters hit only .227 against him. Dal-soo Kim of the Detroit Motors finished second in voting, while Chris Kaplan of the San Francisco Peanuts finished third. |
