Philadelphia Grounds was the site of a tense game between the Philadelphia Keystones and Houston Mavericks.

Houston rode a fine outing from starter Jason Johnson to victory over the Philadelphia Keystones at Philadelphia Grounds. The final score was 3-2. Josh Rouse, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1.

Houston took a 3-2 lead on Pat Sciocchetti's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Sciocchetti hit in the top of the eighth, left Philadelphia pitcher Eric Kolbe visibly frustrated.

"We had a good game plan," Johnson said, "and we were able to execute it."

The win gives Houston a record of 6-5.
