Shamrocks Earn 2-1 Win Versus Cutthroats
Boston Shamrocks starter Bobby Brown turned in a sterling performance against the Denver Cutthroats, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. The winner in relief was Claudio Ronchetti. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Ruben Wirtz picked up the save for Boston, his 2nd of the year.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Howie Park came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Denver pitcher Steve Palermo, he hit a 2-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Boston on top, 2-1.

"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Brown.

The Shamrocks, now 6-3, have been playing some good baseball.
