Mercado Now 7-4 After Subduing Keystones
Houston Mavericks starter Ricardo Mercado turned in an exceptional performance against the Philadelphia Keystones at Mavericks Ballpark, resulting in a Houston win, 2-1. Dave Kaminski earned save number 13 this season. The win gives Houston a season record of 36-18.

Mercado was in the zone all game. He frustrated Philadelphia hitters while giving the Mavericks 8 innings of quality work. Mercado threw 109 pitches, allowing 6 hits and getting 12 punchouts.

"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Philadelphia manager Doug Stucker. "Obviously."
