Late Magic Gets Boston 4-2 Win
|
Boston played host to Dallas at Shamrocks Ballpark.
The Boston Shamrocks beat the Dallas Texans, 4-2, at Shamrocks Ballpark. Boston catcher Ryan Markey had an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with 3 singles. Dennis Rowe, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits. Ruben Wirtz picked up the save, his 15th.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Luis Moreno came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Dallas pitcher Trevor Busenbark, he hit a 1-0 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Boston on top, 3-2.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Markey told the Boston Today.
The win elevated the Shamrocks to 30-22.
