Chicago Blackhawks starter Jacob Simpson was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the St. Louis Lions, 3-2. Chicago reliever Andy Taylor was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Danny Behnam. The win for the Blackhawks raised their record to 23-16.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when left fielder Steve Tucker, who is tied for 9th in the PBC with a .890 OPS, hit a triple. The Blackhawks went on to win.
After the game, Chicago manager Andrew Galvin applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
